At Carousel, we have enjoyed making our premium range of ice cream, ice cream cake, frozen yoghurt and gelati here in Victoria, Australia. And we are very proud that our products have been loved by Melbournians young and old for 30 years!
As rewards for our dedication to taste and texture, we have won DIAA (Diary Industry Association, Australia) and Royal Victoria Agriculture Dairy Industry awards. Customers who have tasted our products, such as our specialty 'Carousel Gourmet Marble Crunch Ice Cream Cake' have been coming back year after year to buy the same product for every special occasion.
We are very fortunate that our business, though small, has been sustained by our valued and loyal customers, telling their friends and family about why they love Carousel. We are told that Carousel Ice Cream Cakes has been one of Melbourne's hidden treasures for a long-long time!
In accordance with increase public demand, a new manufacturing plant was set up in early 2005 at our current address in Bayswater North. Since then, to make sure we can be here for the next generation, we have set ourselves some important goals:
- To provide our customers with gourmet quality products and guarantee their satisfaction.
- To provide our customers with fresh, pure, healthy and hygienic products for their absolute enjoyment.
- To improve our service to all Australians by going nation-wide.
- To export our quality Australian made and owned dairy products overseas and to share our experience with our international friends.
In order to maintain the highest standards in hygiene and safety, we replaced our existing equipment with the best Europe had to offer and set up a HACCP food safety program. Now we manufacture under strict HACCP food safety code with regular audits by Dairy Food Safety Australia. Our products are regularly tested by independent NATA Accredited laboratories, in order to maintain the highest standard in food safety.
In 2005, our first year in operation at our new factory, we won two gold awards and one silver award in Royal Agriculture Show's 150 years celebration dairy competition. Our two gold award winners are 'Marble Crunch Ice Cream Cake' and 'Rainbow Ice Cream Cake', which was a new flavour ice cream cake for 2005.
In 2006, we won three gold awards and eight silver awards in Dairy Industry Australia competition. The three gold awards were our 'Premium Chocolate Ice Cream', 'Premium cappuccino Ice Cream', 'Carousel Gourmet Chocolate Raspberry Crunch Ice Cream Cake', a new flavour in 2006.
